Program July 12 - 24, 2009 2009 marks the 38th year of our There are many aspects of GATLA’s Summer Residential Training Program that distinguish it from other training programs in Gestalt Therapy, that make it a cutting edge training opportunity, and make it a benchmark for Gestalt Therapy Training Programs worldwide. New In 2009 - GATLA has invited several “Gestalt Elders” to be part of the training this year. These are Gestalt teachers who were trained by Fritz, and/or Lore Perls, Jim Simkin, and/or Isadore Fromm and have made an important contribution to Gestalt Therapy. The Elders will have the opportunity to supervise some trainees, sit in on groups and add their perspectives, give evening presentations and add an unparalleled richness to our community. There will be opportunities to talk, eat, “schmooze” and laugh with these honored guests. In response to feedback from participants, we will be lightening the load in 2009 offering fewer trio times and more time to relax and enjoy the scenery, facilities and the community. Strong Community - International in scope - participants from 20-25 different countries. Internationally trained faculty. Five Levels of Training - Interdependent groups, interweaving theory, supervision, group work and personal therapy. Supportive Environment - Therapists and consultants can do their own personal therapy and training away from their home community. Clinical Practicum - Participants have an individual therapy client whom they see daily with live supervision. This offers an ongoing experience both with therapy and intensive supervision over time. MasterClass - An opportunity for very experienced Gestalt therapists who have completed their trainings (with GATLA or other Institutes -Gestalt or not) to observe and do personal work with all three core faculty, Todd Burley, Rita Resnick and Bob Resnick as well as other MasterClass participants followed by in depth discussion of therapeutic issues. Enhance your therapeutic and/or supervisory skills, option to bring in any special interest projects (special populations, research, theory, etc.) for consultation from MasterClass members and Core Faculty. MasterClass participants have an individual therapy client whom they see daily with live supervision. CONTINUING OUR SUCCESSFUL THEORY TRACK IN 2009 – WORKING WITH CHILDREN & ADOLESCENTS. Participants Present Their Work - Optional evening presentations.
