SPECIAL ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT EVENING SEMINAR
For those with a particular interest in the application of Gestalt principles in organizational settings, a series of three evening sessions will be run during the workshop. These sessions will take the form of case study presentations and group exploration of issues raised. Participants in these sessions will be asked to outline a situation they have experienced in working with or within an organization, to explain the position from a Gestalt perspective and lead a discussion on the issues raised. These sessions will be facilitated by Doug Aberle, M. Eng. Sc. who has a long standing interest in this area being both a practicing Gestalt therapist and General Manager in a large organization. Please indicate your interest in participating in these additional sessions by marking the box on the application form and additional information will be sent to you.
Optional evening presentations have been traditionally scheduled wherein both faculty and participants present and discuss their current interests or expertise. The rich and bountiful backgrounds of therapists from 25 different countries and cultures provides an absolutely outstanding array of presentations. Other, less academic/professional evening activities include singing around the piano, playing guitars, dancing to the music of many countries, arguing theory over a glass of wine, quietly sitting or walking under the stars, telling jokes, etc. In short, we are a wonderful, warm and ongoing community that welcomes new members.
This seminar will take place over two evenings during the residential workshop. It is designed to provide psychological, emotional, and practical support to those participants who are involved in, or wish to be involved in, professional writing. Articles that cover a multitude of topics, ranging from case studies to theory, including individuals, couples, family, group and organizational populations, and a broad range of content issues are acceptable. (For example, diagnosis, supervision, sexuality, cultural, aging, development, etc.). Manuscripts should be "in progress," and can range from a detailed outline to an almost complete manuscript. Authors should have a clear sense of what questions they would like the other participants to address regarding their manuscript. Please indicate your interest in participating in these additional sessions by marking the box on the application form. Additional information will be sent to you.
